FACULTY  BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CASSIE BARKER

Cassie is a web strategist and facilitator, helping nonprofits have stronger messages and stories in their work. She has worked with Canada's top environmental law, climate change and immigrant labour advocates, where she built online constituencies and campaigns for political change. Cassie began studying with Centre of Gravity after moving to Toronto in 2009, and has found inspiration in the teachings and community it provides.

ELAINE JACKSON

Elaine is a yoga teacher, writer and occupational therapist who has been involved with Centre of Gravity for many years. She was drawn to Michael's integration of yoga philosophy and Buddhism with asana, ecology, activism and imagination. It took a long time for Michael to convince her that a daily meditation practice was really necessary, but when he finally succeeded she found that practice really transformed her outlook. She looks upon her ongoing engagement with TCGBA as an opportunity to give back, learn, grow, and create together with a wonderful assortment of dharma friends whom she feels privileged to get to know.

ANGELA ROSS

Angela has been doing full time psychotherapy as a family doctor for 22 years. She has a longstanding personal meditation practice. In the last few years she has also actively explored and been excited by the study of Buddhist teachings and ethics and with the richness that lies in their integration with her clinical work. She began taking workshops, retreats and courses with Michael Stone four years ago and for the past two years has been an active member of Centre of Gravity. Presently, she is also a participant in a Buddhist Meditation Mentorship course with Michael Stone, Norman Feldman and Molly Swan.

PAT SMITH

Pat Smith is a physician who has worked as an abortion provider for the past 20 years. She has had a meditation practice for many years and is particularly interested in Buddhist ethics as it applies to her work and the integration of ethical life with the demands and expectations of work, family and relationships. She has been studying with Michael Stone and at Centre of Gravity for the past five years. She is currently taking a mentorship program with Michael, Molly Swan and Norman Feldman.
