PRACTICE AT CENTRE OF GRAVITY  ONLINE COURSES

ONLINE COURSES

Our aim is to foster a community where people can actively learn what it means to commit to Buddhist practices and cultivate a life that is more engaged. As our community grows, we are continually looking for new ways to offer these teachings that are flexible and convenient. For those practitioners who simply can’t, for whatever reason, study away from home, we offer diverse learning tools including online courses.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF YOGA AND MINDFULNESS

This course draws on the Yoga-Sutra and how it intersects with the insights of western psychology. It’s popular to learn about where to put your hands and feet in a yoga posture or how to sit still in meditation, but how do we truly work with the habits of the mind? Click for details

EMBODYING ETHICS AND VOWS FOR MODERN LIFE

Studying ethics is a deep practice of committing to building a culture of non-harm. This nine-week course is for students wishing to place practice at the centre of their lives through an exploration of values and practical ways of embodying the dharma. Click here for details.

ONLINE MEDITATION COURSE

Meditation begins with stability, concentration and attention to posture, all of which are explored in detail in this six-week practical and deep home immersion. In it you will learn the basic postures for sitting meditation, how to work with obstacles, techniques for deepening concentration, and more. Click here for details.

PRANAYAMA: ESSENTIAL YOGA BREATHING

This 6-week home immersion with Michael Stone is a powerful and transformative curriculum of breathing practices that lead to meditative insight, emotional stability, and concentration. Pranayama can also be used to regulate imbalances in the nervous system, immune system and the mind. Click here for details.

CORE TEACHINGS OF THE BUDDHA BEFORE THE RISE OF BUDDHISM

This eight week online course, taught by Shôken Michael Stone, examines the way the Buddha taught, what he taught, and how he engaged in the social and religious situation of his era. Click here for details.
